- Ginkgo Bioworks (not directly FoodTech, more Biotech, but still highly interesting company) succeeded in its $15B IPO.
- Air Up raises $40M. The German startup markets reusable bottles that you fill with water. You add scent “pods” that stimulate your brain to think the water has a taste (from coke to orange juice). The bottle is nice (still on my desk one year after), the scenting part is… less convincing.
- Burro, an AgTech robot startup, raises $11M, notably from Toyota. It is interesting to see that startups that raise money in this space can now boast an impressive number of deployed robots and measured productivity improvement.

iss the opportunity to shareΒ this news that it may now be possible to cook with them. While it is not yet available for your oven, it could be a fascinating technique to be combined with 3D printing in the (far) future.
π₯Β The pea prices are soaring. Beyond pea lovers, this will impact the plant-based industry which heavily relies on it. We will have to see if companies have to increase their prices and hence widen the gap with conventional meat.
