Here are the 8 deals that we found the most exciting and interesting for you to know this week:
🇳🇱 📦 Crisp, a Dutch startup, raised €75M for its grocery delivery platform. The startup is part of what we call “farm-to-home” grocery delivery services, as it is connected to a network of local farmers and avoids storing fresh produce for more than 24h in its warehouses. It also announced the acquisition of a local supplier of ready-made meals, which help Crisp to increase its offering.
🇳🇱 ♻️ ChainCraft, a Dutch startup, raised €11M for its process that converts organic waste into biochemicals with multiple applications in animal feed and flavours.
🇩🇪 🇹🇷 🚴♂️ Gorillas, the German quick-commerce startup (that raised $1.3B in the last couple of years), is rumoured to be about to be acquired by its Turkish competitor Getir for $100M in cash and a 12% stake in the new combined entity. That would mean a significant loss for the backers of the startup.
🇫🇷 🐟 Poiscaille, a French startup, raised €8M for its B2C seafood marketplace. Consumers can subscribe and get delivered fresh (randomly selected depending on what’s available) seafood at a low price.
🇺🇸 🛒 Veeve, a US-based startup, raised $6.7M for its tech that transforms any shopping cart into a smart one. Smart shopping carts have been discussed for years but have yet to become massively adopted (due to cost and resistance maybe). Maybe a retrofit solution would be a way to go.
🇺🇸 💀 Sugar Lab, a US-based startup, raised $16M to buy back a 3D printing technology it originally developed (and sold). It enables the production of large batches of colourful treats. It seems to be looking to develop food 3D printing beyond events and novelty to an indispensable element of any commercial kitchen.
🇨🇴 🍽 Foodology, a startup based in Colombia, raised $50M for its set of virtual restaurant brands distributed through restaurant delivery apps in Latin America.
🇺🇸 🌱 Soli Organic, a US-based startup, raised $125M for its indoor farming production of fresh herbs.
